even tho i only played the demo ive seen enough to know how the game is going to be like. i found it dissapointing,the load times are extremly long,the track in the demo was kinda plain ,there might be other cool tracks but i just didnt like it. i honestly thought sonic and sega allstars racing was bettr then this. the characters and the tracks were really detailed good. guess racing games isnt my thing , ill just stick to playing little big planet.

Well this is just great!
Personally i think this game is really good, for what i could play of it…
Got through with the first qualifying race, everything was fine, got a tour of the ModSpot, (it kept going on and off line just in the game for some odd reason)check the top karts, after exiting checking out the karts, the game freezes, try to turn of the system through the home button, goes really really slow, then screen goes black restart and i get this red screen and can’t do anything.
Honestly i doubt it happens to everyone so don’t not buy it just because of me. The parts that i have played were really fun, but I can’t give this game credit if it breaks my PS3.
Hopefully ill get it fixed and update this after i have been able to play it.

First, I’d like to say that what I’ve played of this game is fun. The ability to totally customize your character and kart (in ways you can’t even begin to imagine) is awesome. The ability to make detailed tracks of your own is also pretty cool.
Unfortunately, there is one thing that alone almost kills anything positive about this game and that is the load times. You wait nearly two minutes from the time you click on the game in your PS3 menu to get to where you can actually do anything (a virtual space in place of menu options) and from there on out, for just about anything you do there’s more load times – sometimes in excess of a minute. Want to mod your character or kart? Load time. Want to do some career racing? Load time. Want to race online? God help you…
Now to be fair, it seems that there are reports that United Front will be issuing a patch at some point to help address this serious, serious flaw in an otherwise fun game. What deeply troubles me is that a google search reveals reports of this patch well before the game launch and that in many forums and comment sections where people talk about having access to the private beta, they show that this was something complained heavily about well BEFORE the game launched. The fact that this game went out with a known issue like this is simply unacceptable. The notion that they’ll get your money today and fix these issues down the road seems to be becoming more and more common practice… but it shouldn’t be.
I hope that they are able to provide an adequate fix. Quite frankly, they’re going to have to pull of a minor miracle to do it, one would think. In any event, if and when they do, I’ll come back and update my review but for the time being save your money and stay away.

I purchased this game primarily for making my own race tracks and to play online with friends. It succeeded in these two criteria, but the game is fairly boring. It is a remake of Mario Kart 64 with a track editor. The tracks are not as fun as MK64, the commentators are fairly annoying, and the character models look bland.

My final thoughts on this game is that it does not have enough tracks, not as fun as MK64, but still a decent clone, nonetheless.

OMG, I can not believe how much fun this game is. I usually suck at racing games, and gets me frustrated for the most part and that’s why I rarely don’t play the ones I have, but I had so much fun with ModNation Racers I can not put this game down.
I played last night at around 10pm and didn’t realize how much time had past, I looked outside and the sun was already out, it was already 6 in the morning!! I seriously couldn’t believe it, I have never spent so much time in front of the tv playing a video game. My driving skills have improved, so much that the people online now are always trying to shoot me or bump me off the road now cause I have gotten at least in the Top 5 now when I race online. Fierce competition from fans online. Awesome gaming experience though anyways, always up for a challenge!
10 out of 10 stars for me! This game has me hooked like a drug!
